Coffee and Adventure

  I've been thinking. I've been doing a lot of thinking. Like many of you - watching our country being torn apart by hate, ignorance, greed, racism, fabrication..........you can find your own adjectives. As my husband and I continue our research for moving abroad - we "attend" forums and webinars for expats-to-be. Though I feel as if I'm already an expat. I'm mentally removed from the USA.  We remind ourselves we are not fleeing our home country just because of political views. This administration will not be around forever [geeze, it can't be!!] but we made a decision to move. For many reasons. Cost of living. Health care. Culture and travel. Our retirement plan was to travel - Italy, Scotland, Ireland, Germany and Morocco. I have roots in Italy, my husband in Scotland. To have the opportunity to explore those countries and more gives us a burst of extra excitement. If not now - then when. As our adult children expressed to us. If not now........we don...

  With this new year holiday coming to an end - I begin working on my lessons for Tuesday. My students will be writing their own books. For young author week in March it takes time. Kindergarten kiddos a have short attention span - but when given a fun creative project that comes to life by their own creativity - it's priceless. Before my class of 19 begins their illustrations, writing a draft and designing their cover - they will begin with a Vision Board. Each student will be given poster board, magazines, old post cards, stickers and colored pencils for those who prefer to draw their visions. Once the vision boards are completed - we will hang them around our classroom. Vision boards work in so many positive ways. Vision boards can represent who you are. Motivate you. Bring clarity and focus.
